Mars/Venus: Spirituality in Relationships 48 (2×08)

Mars/Venus: Spirituality in Relationships 48 (2×08)

Episode 48 we will be talking about the importance spirituality and/or religion play in romantic relationships. Guest panelists include Shon & Londina Hyneman of The Doctor of Love Show Podcast: www.doctorloveshow.com air date 3/2/15

The common wisdom goes like this: “some enchanted evening,…” However once reality sets in, lovers will awaken from their mutual projections, discover the psychological work involved in two people trying to reach across the chasm of real-life separateness, and come to terms at last with the mundane sorrows of human existence and intimate love.

Join us as we explore the value of holding a spiritual perspective relative to our connections to one another and how blind delusions can result in an experience that is not as enlightening.

Girlfriend Experience http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Girlfriend+Experience

When an escort offers a service more akin to a ‘real’ relationship rather than just sex. The escort may go with the payer to dinner / the movies etc and engage in conversation, kissing and so forth, before retiring for sex (as what might occur when dating). Men who indulge in such Girlfriend Experiences with escorts are said to be enjoying The Hobby.

It’s get the Girlfriend Experience – I don’t need to try to impress her – she’ll come out with me on the town and later I get garunteed sex. But she is still a prostitute, it costs me.” … “What’s the difference between that and when you were going out with my sister?

Mars/Venus: Valentines Day Couples Show 45 (2×05)

Episode 45 Is it more important to love … or to be loved?

*sorry there was a black out so the episode ends abruptly there will be a 2nd part to this*

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching many women are anticipating a genuine show of commitment through their partner’s expressions of “Love” while most men scramble to coordinate something that will meet the need without upsetting their Lady. Most of us would agree with George Eliot’s words, “I like not only to be loved, but also to be told I am loved.” Is it meaningful to base such an important experience around romantic expressions one day of the year?

In this episode, we explore how love is expressed and how we measure the experience of love in relationships.

Mars/Venus: The Sisterhood of a Sorority 44 (2×04)

Episode 44 Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs) are considered to be those nine organizations founded between 1906 and 1963 that sought to provide a vehicle for black college students to associate with like-minded individuals and unite around common principles. At their founding, the five fraternities – Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Iota Phi Theta – and four sororities – Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho – required their members to dedicate themselves to academic excellence, leadership, and the improvement of black communities.

Yet today, the public BGLO narrative is dominated by stories of brutal hazing practices and the much-celebrated (and often-appropriated), culturally-significant art of stepping. With shows like VH1’s series “Sorority Sisters” outraging people in the Black community the question becomes whether there is any benefit to belonging to these groups? What changed?

Join our guests representing the sorority side of the Divine Nine as we explore the idea of sisterhood Mars Venus style.

Mars/Venus: Monogamy an outdated concept 43 (2×03)

E. 43 Synopsis: Many societies that we consider monogamous in fact allow easy divorce. In many western countries divorce rates approach 50%. Those who remarry do so on average 3 times. Divorce and remarriage can thus result in “serial monogamy”, i.e. multiple marriages but only one legal spouse at a time. In a time when online connection provide opportunities for connection and deception in a way never before seen, has the idea of one partner for a lifetime an outdated concept?

Join special guest panelists Doc Love and Ebony Empress as we explore this topic M&WT:MVS style!

Ebony Empress @MsEbonyEmpress http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ebonyempress http://www.ebonyempresstv.com/

I started broadcasting on Tropicalfm Internet radio in 2011 and was amazed to learn a new skill that I felt really comfortable with. I will always be grateful to Don One, for giving me the Sunday night slot for a show called ‘More power within you’. I moved to Blogtalk radio and started Ebony’s Real Talks in May 2012 and the rest is history. We now have over 90,000 listeners and the show has won the Ebony Business Online Talk Show of 2014 in London.

Over the past 2 years I have appeared on a number of shows including the Jay King Network (The Cool Critics), Mr Talk, Six Eyes Radio, CRS Radio and One Carrribean Radio. I have also had a number of Co-hosts who have helped me to increase my ratings. I would like to publicly thank all my listeners and Co-hosts including Winsome Miller, Steve the Dean Williams, Nathaniel Graham, Tanneka Guice, Hilton Samuel, Joe from Montana, Bougie Girl(Lainee Alexander) and Mr Talk {Eric Jackson} for your support and love.

Some things you may not know about Ebony Smile:
I am a Mother who is passionate, outgoing, fun loving and also a Marathon Runner. When you listen to my shows you will learn that I like to tease my listeners and laugh at myself. I still make mistakes and forget things or mispronounce names. This just means I am still learning how to present to a World wide audience.

Anyway at the end of the day this is my passion. This is what I love doing and so who cares what goes wrong, as long as we keep learning and growing together through the power of conversation.

Having survived an unhealthy, abusive, 20 year relationship, I have spent the last 5 years trying to understand how love relationships work. Conversations are very powerful they can help you to shift your thinking and support you to question some of the beliefs you hold on to. I believe that no one has to change anything unless they choose to. What may propel you to want to make a change is when you feel like it’s Groundhog day and you keep repeating the same mistakes over, again and again.

“If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you’ve made, if they don’t realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go.” ― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

People agree that communication is a vital aspect of healthy relationships, but we tend to focus on verbal expression and less on other forms of connecting that may be telling us more than words are conveying.

Episode 42 will focus on understanding the ways we communicate with one another and recognizing non-verbal and behavioral cues that may provide useful information about things you may not be talking about. Monday, January 19, 2015
